The Italian coffee company "Luigi Lavazza S.p.A." is expanding its production in the south of France and relies on the competences of NBS AG for the disposal plant.

Luigi Lavazza S.p.A. is an Italian company that is in the business of refining and distributing coffee beans. Through the acquisition of the "Carte Noir" brand, the company now also produces in the south of France, more precisely at the world's third-largest food manufacturer Mondélez International. In 2013, NBS AG installed a central extraction system for the aluminum waste from the coffee capsules for this very food company. Even then, an optimal system design with high flexibility and at the same time almost 100% availability played an important role, which is why the technical solution of NBS AG was chosen.

Now the expansion of Lavazza Holding is imminent, with four production machines having to dispose of the die-cutting waste from flow paper - capsules. After many previous analyses, it was recognized that the different material also meant a different system design than at Mondélez International. The energy-optimized components and the application with briquetting presses spoke in favor of NBS AG. Last but not least, a complicated fabric insertion and the low space requirement are also the speciality of the central Swiss company.

For these reasons, and also due to the successful cooperation in the recent past, Lavazza S.p.A. quickly agreed and awarded the major contract to the family-owned company NBS AG.
